At Intothesticks.life we have one simple mission: to encourage others to get outside and engage with the wild world around them.
The Community Campfire is an opportunity for you to get involved and help us fulfil our mission. This is a space dedicated entirely to you. It’s where you can share some stories, tips, skills, recipes and experiences. It is the digital version of sitting around a campfire and talking about your passions.
So let’s hear some campfire stories…
The awesome Alaskan-native residing in Scotland and self confessed mountain addict Hollie gives us an insight on her life and a very touching and inspiring view on climbing mountains – both metaphorically and literally.
Also included: Hollie has joined us since writing her article for a chat as part of our ‘In Conversation With…’ series!
The Co-Creator of The Green Prescriptions Podcast and advocate for positive mental health, Steve Upton, shares a bit of a personal insight with us here, giving us an introduction to his internal struggles as he overcomes his fears and takes his first steps along his ‘journey to a positive life’.
For anybody living with anxiety, low-self esteem or any other internal battle, this is for you.
Adam takes us into the exciting but often ‘sketchy’ world of climbing.
In a world where there is so much pressure to ‘go hard or go home’ we need more people like Adam to tell us it’s OK to start at the bottom and learn the ropes first.
Sometimes you just need to take five minutes to catch your breath… then try and try again.
Helping to protect the natural world one brushstroke at a time – that’s the Art of Conservation!
The incredibly talented Sophie Green tells us about her life as an award winning wildlife and conservation artist.
Sophie is a member of ‘Artists for Conservation’ and a record breaking fundraiser for ‘Explorers Against Extinction’.
Trading a career for the surfboard, Kirsty shares a beautiful insight into the spectacular world of surfing.
A beautiful story of how riding the waves can change a life and deliver a lesson on the healing powers of nature.
This is one to read.

Like so many of her articles in her wide catalogue of work, ‘A Dawn Chorus’ is so poetically written and expresses Charlotte’s experience and emotions beautifully.
We all love some campfire cuisine, don’t we?
