When working towards a leader qualification (Mountain Leader, Lowland Leader etc.) you are expected to record a specific number of days in the relevant type of arena. For those working towards the Mountain Leader qualification, you need to log at the very least 40 ‘quality mountain days,’ also referred to as QMDs, before you can complete your assessment.
If you are thinking about, or in the process of, going through your Mountain Leader qualification, our Mountain Days are designed to give you an excellent insight into what to expect during your training and assessment.
The Quality Mountain Days are delivered in a completely relaxed, supportive and enjoyable peer led environment with no pressure of assessment – add to that the beautiful surroundings of Eryri (Snowdonia), Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) and the Lake District and you really can expect a quality day in the mountains.
You can opt for a single mountain day, where we will try to cover everything in the Mountain Leader syllabus or you can go for the full 2.5 days which includes the wild camp. It’s worth bearing in mind that your training and assessment can include at least 3 wild camps. Please be aware that during this QMD ML Preparation course there will be one night where accommodation is not booked or wild camping. Options are available, so please do ask if you are unsure.
